ILOILO City – In Barangay Democracia, Jaro district a rumble between two groups on the eve of Christmas (Dec. 24) left a young man dead and his teenage friend injured.
Niel Gulmatico succumbed to a stab wound on the chest at the West Visayas State University Medical Center.
His 17-year-old friend from Barangay Benedicto, Jaro, on the other hand, sustained a stab wound on the left leg.
The teenager was taken to the same hospital, too, for treatment.
The suspect was a 14-year-old lad from Barangay Veterans Village, City Proper. He and his companions fled.
From what the police so far gathered, the rumble happened around 10:10 p.m. at the “Lugawan ni Bro” eatery. It was preceded by an argument./PN
