SAN JOSE, Antique – Beginning today, only travelers (returning Antiqueños and Authorized Persons Outside of Residence or APORs) tested negative for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can enter Antique.
To prove that they are indeed free from COVID-19, they have to present the negative results of their RT-PCR (reverse transcription – polymerase chain reaction) tests.
Executive Order No. 001 issued by acting governor Edgar Denosta on Jan. 7 set the following travel requirements:
For Returning Antiqueños from areas outside the provinces of Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo and Guimaras:
* Secure a notice of coordination and acceptance from the Municipal Coordinator for Returning Antiqueños (MCRA) of the receiving municipal local government unit.
* For persons (including infants and children) who are fully or not fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine, secure a negative RT-PCR test result, provided that the test has been conducted after five days of strict quarantine from the point of origin; provided further, that the test result was issued not earlier than three days before travel to Antique
* Provide an approved S-PaSS quick response (QR) code.
For APORs of national government agencies, their attached agencies and other local government units, traveling on official business and coming from places outside of Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo and Guimaras:
* Secure a notice of coordination and acceptance from the Municipal Coordinator for Returning Antiqueños if the receiving municipal local government unit.
* For persons (including infants and children) who are fully or not fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine, secure a negative RT-PCR test result, provided that the test has been conducted after a five-day strict quarantine from the point of origin; provided further, that the test result was issued not earlier than three days before travel to Antique.
* Provide an approved S-PaSS Quick Response (QR) code.
Leisure Travel
* For Antiqueño tourists – document required is a valid identification card
* For tourists or staycationers within Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo and Guimaras – documents required are valid DI, COVID-19 Vaccination Card or Vaccination Certificate or Medical Certificate stating that the holder is not eligible for COVID-19 vaccine, and proof of booking reservation
* For tourists or staycationers from outside Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo and Guimaras – documents required are proof of booking reservation, negative RT-PCR test result, and valid ID
* Contact sports shall be temporarily prohibited. Venues with the live voice or wind-instrument performances and audiences such as in karaoke bars, clubs, concert halls, and theaters shall also be temporary prohibited. Parades, caravans, and other crowd-drawing activities shall likewise be temporary prohibited.
* Liquor ban is lifted. Drinking in public places is allowed until 11 p.m.
* Curfew is from 12 midnight until 4 a.m. APOR, night shift essential workers, persons with medical needs or emergencies and persons availing of urgent legal aid are exempted from the curfew.
As of Jan. 8, Antique had 70 active COVID cases. These were from the towns of San Jose (45), Sibalom (six), Belison (four), Bugasong (three), Culasi (two), Hamtic (two), San Remigio (two), Valderrama (two), Anini-y (one), Laua-an (one), Patnongon (one), and Tibiao (one)./PN
