YET ANOTHER year and the return to colleges and universities is actually a return to the bedroom and back online. This really is just a computer simulation of the real education experience.
There will be no boring, old lecturer with a PowerPoint from the ‘90s – actually that won’t change.
There won’t be a food court to waste time discussing how you will change the world for the better.
There won’t be 100 people to chat to/chat up as Zoom isn’t that private.
Online learning is like a Western movie without John Wayne, it’s just not as good. Good luck with the screen work and hope that the lecturer doesn’t always use the mute button.

The tears of a clown’s supporters
North Korea leader Kim Jong Un looks like a smiling clown but in reality only the clown part is true if he is going to test more missiles. He has fired what is believed to be a ballistic missile into the ocean.
Given that many of his people are starving, is this some weird fishing expedition or is it just the usual provocation of Japan and the rest of the world?
Missiles cost millions and the money could be used to feed his people instead.
Why are so many despots concerned with spending big money on weapons that if used would lead to their country being flattened in a day by whoever they attack?
They could spend money on their citizens so that those waving flags in support might be smiling because they have full bellies rather than a fear of being shot if they don’t smile enough.
This is one leader the world would be better without.

Djokovic off to court but not a tennis court
The current Australian Tennis Open’s champion, Djokovic, has returned to protect his title, almost. He has been stopped at the border.
As his vaccination status is unknown his upcoming arrival has been condemned by most Australians. The lockdowns have been severe in order to protect the masses including not being allowed to visit dying relatives and then only allowing 10 people to attend the funeral, but a number of people have tried to bypass the rules.
Djokovic has been reported as having had COVID and is generally believed to not be vaccinated based on his views and yet he travels around and intends to play in Australia. The next step will be to go to court to get into Australia.
Given how many have died from COVID, how can one person and his team be so ignorant to think they can ignore the restrictions and public opinion to earn a big pay check?
Be the champion you have been and go home now till you can prove you are vaccinated./PN
