BACOLOD City – There won’t be restrictions on residents here wanting to travel to Negros Occidental, said Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz.
Bacolod City shifts to the stricter pandemic Alert Level 3 today. This will last until Jan. 31 unless extended or shortened.
Negros Occidental, on the other hand, remains under the less restrictive Alert Level 2.
According to Diaz, it is not necessary to further burden Bacolodnons with reverse transcription –polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test with negative result.
Also, he pointed out that Negros Occidental has no travel restrictions with Negros Oriental. Bus trips between the two provinces remain normal, he stressed.
The only requirements for travelers from Negros Oriental are their coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination card or certificate, a valid identification card, and an S-PaSS (Safe, Swift and Smart Passage) registration.
However, Diaz did affirm that since Cebu City had also been placed under Alert Level 3, travelers from there and entering Negros Occidental would be required to present a negative RT-PCR test regardless of their vaccination status, as ordered by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson
“Our concept is a bubble, ang aton borders, ports and airports dapat bantayan,” Diaz said./PN
