Quizon CT (short for Comedy Theater) is the newest gag show with new and old jokes, fun games and a lot more at Net 25. It stars the Quizon brothers namely Eric, Epy, and Vandolph together with his wife Jenny, along with Gene Padilla, Bearwin Meily, Gary Lim and Martin Escudero.
Net 25 is extremely happy with the turnout of its collaboration with Comedy King Dolphy’s children: the show has given the network it’s highest rating show on a Sunday!
The brothers are equally ecstatic, too.
In a recent zoom meeting with the entertainment press, actor and director Eric said it’s actually a long-planned project with the Quizon family, all together in one project.
“We were talking about it, napag-usapan namin ni Epy na ‘bakit hindi tayo gumawa ng sarili nating show.’ This opportunity came na NET25 asked us to pitch, and nagpapasalamat kami na napili ‘yung show namin,” Eric said.
Eric also shared that Epy is co-directing the show with him, “I’m co-directing it with Epy. Kasi sabi ko it’s about time na mag-direk ka na rin and I think comedy is really more your forte. Sabi ko, tayong dalawa ‘yung mag-direk para hindi na din ako mahirapan.”
When asked if any of the three brothers would be able to replace the comedy king, albeit duplicate his talent and success, the trio answered in the negative. There is no one who could ever replaced their dad, they almost chorused. Vandolph has the best explanation: “Para kaming Voltes 5, we need to volt in together, the three of us, in order to come up with the comedy brilliance of our dad.”
Quizon CT promises to make our Sunday’s evening fun — including some reminisces of the old comedy brand of Mang Dolphy — and happy.
