ILOILO City – Mayor Jerry Treñas cited MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power) for fast-tracking the installation of electricity line at the Iloilo City Modular Hospital.

“Asta sila 12 a.m. gaobra asta matapos gid. Thank you to MORE Power and its president, Roel Castro,” said Treñas.

The modular hospital will start operating anytime soon. Its operation is vital to decrease the healthcare utilization rate (HCUR) of the city and thus avert the placing of the metro to a higher alert system.

Iloilo City is currently under Alert Level 3.

Earlier, Local Government undersecretary Epimaco Densing discussed with Treñas about the city’s high HCUR. Alert Level 4 is equivalent to the Enhanced Community Quarantine status.

The city mayor, after talking to Densing, immediately had a meeting with the managements of various city hospitals, which in return committed to increase their coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) bed capacity. Following this, the city’s HCUR dropped.

“Ang aton modular hospital may diutay na lang nga kinahanglanon. Gina-procure na subong sang aton city government para maka-operate na kita,” said Treñas.

Located in Barangay So-o, Arevalo district adjacent to one of the city’s quarantine facilities, the modular hospital has a 77-COVID bed capacity.

The Department of Public Works and Highways that is undertaking the construction is expected to turn-over the facility to the city government before the end of this week./PN
