Antique vaccination for kids on Feb. 15

ANTIQUE – The provincial government of Antique will start its vaccination for five to 11 years old against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday, February 15, 2022.

Governor Rhodora Cadiao said that the 5,500 doses of reformulated Pfizer vaccine had arrived in the province to be used for the vaccination of five to 11 years old.

The reformulated vaccine came from the Department of Health (DOH). These 5,500 doses of reformulated vaccine are part of 82,400 doses DOH allotted for Region-6 vaccination roll-out for five to 11 years old.

To date, the Pfizer vaccine is being used for pediatric vaccination as it is the only jab that has received emergency use approval for kids aged 5 to 11 years old from the Philippines’ FDA.

It can be recalled that last November 2021 the province also started administering Covid-19 vaccines to children 12 to 17 years old which adds to the increasing number of vaccinated Antiqueños in the province.

The provincial government target is to vaccinate the 95,437 five to 11 years old.

These 95,437 kids populated separated from the 435,979 general population or 18 years old and above target population of Antique that needs to vaccinated.

Cadiao, encourage parents to bring their kids and get the jabs on Feb 15 to protect them from COVID-19./PN
