ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Almost 1, 000 farmers in this city have availed themselves of financial assistance from the Department of Agriculture (DA) under its Rice Competitive Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program.
The distribution of the aid to a total of 917 local farmers here was conducted recently and was headed by Carolina Cornello, APCO Provincial Coordinator, and Hayden Sagre, area manager of Universal Stone Front Service Corporation.
“Malipayon gid kami sang akon kaupdanan nga mga mangunguma nga kami nakabaton man sang bulig pinansyal para sa amon pagpananum. Salamat sa bulig ni Mayor nga makaagum man kami kay kinahanglan gid namon ini subong nga tyempo,” said Juan Diaz, president of the recipient farmers’ group Sakahang Kabuhayan ng Milibili Farmers Association (SAKAMILFA).
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas thanked City Agriculturist Mary Ann Barria for facilitating aid for the city farmers.
“Gamay lang ini nga paagi agud bisan paano mabuligan ta sa pagbangon ang aton mga food producers sa syudad kag rason kon ngaa nagapadayon ang food security program naton sa syudad,” said Dadivas./PN
