CAPIZ- A Visayan wild cat or Civet Cat locally known as ‘Singarong’ was rescued recently by a local resident in Barangay Tabuc Norte, Panitan, Capiz.
The endangered specie was immediately turned over to the Panit-an Municipal Police Station by the said resident.
Headed by Police Major Larnel Frial, chief of police of Panit-an, Capiz, it was then turned to Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Capiz.
The Panit-an MPS considered this activity as part of the PNP Core Values Maka-Kalikasan in safeguarding the natural environment.
The civet cat is considered one of the country’s rare and endemic species./PN
