ILOILO – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPP0) was able to neutralize 185 fugitives in two months of non-stop operations.
IPPO director Police Colonel Adrian Acollador said the focus were the “most wanted” persons.
They must be apprehended because they could be utilized as private armed groups by politicos, Acollador explained.
From Jan. 9 to March 9, 45 of the total 185 wanted persons arrested belonged to the “top 10 most wanted men” in their areas while 140 faced “minor” and bailable charges.
Aside from wanted persons, the IPPO also arrested illegal drug and gambling personalities.
“Arresting wanted persons is among our strategies to prevent criminals from regrouping,” Acollador said.
These feats were accomplished within the first 60 days of Acollador as IPPO director.
Acollador also appealed to election candidates to observe proper health protocols and follow the rules and regulations set by the Commission on Elections on campaigning.
“Let us cooperate with each other to have peaceful elections,” he said./PN
