BACOLOD City – In Barangay Bagonbon, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, policemen arrested nine persons in an illegally-held cock derby at about 3:03 p.m. on March 13.
They also recovered 25 fighting cocks, 20 of which were already dead.
The cops seized P1,000 cash, too.
The following suspects face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 409 that prohibits illegal cockfighting: Alberto Poloyapoy, Richard Paner, Larry Recaborda, Enrico Rebalde, Romeo Pangarap, Jade Mancia, Enrique Delubio, Alpeo Claodiang (all residents of San Carlos City); and Marcelino Abellana, 63, of Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
The suspects were taken to the San Carlos police station./PN
