ILOILO City – All Ilonggos are invited to take part in Team Uswag’s “unity walk” and proclamation rally of local candidates, and “Rosas Para sa Kauswagan”, as it ushers in the local campaign period with a bang.
Slated on March 26, the activities will start at 4 p.m. along the Efrain B. Treñas Boulevard at Prime Estates in Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz district.
Team Uswag is a group of Ilonggo volunteers from various sectors banding together to actively promote the candidacy of reelectionists Mayor Jerry Treñas, Cong. Julienne Baronda, Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, and their entire slate.
They are also fully supporting the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.
“We have initiated the activities all from our own efforts and resources,” event lead Jonas Antonio Bellosillo said.
Targeting to gather at least a crowd of 30,000, the program will be graced by Sen. Franklin Drilon, and vice presidential daughter Aika Robredo.
The team has assured to strictly comply with the rules and regulations of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), and the city’s ordinances to ensure the safety of all Ilonggos participating in the activities.
Marshals will be put in place to manage the crowd, as well as medical teams, members of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, and compliance officers to enforce IATF protocols.
Entertainment will also be provided aside from the speeches of candidates. There will be performances from Kultura Band, Richmonde and Klite, Uswag Youth, Doctors for Leni, and Association of Barangay Captains.
The entire slate of local candidates being supported by Team Uswag are the following:

* Vice Mayor – Ganzon
* city councilors – Romel Duron, Ely Estante, Rudolf Ganzon, Carlos Javellana, Frances Grace Parcon, Alan Zaldivar, Urminico Baronda, Sedfrey Cabaluna, John Eric David, Rex Marcus Sarabia, Miguel Treñas, and Johnny Young.
Their line-up is running under the banner of the National Unity Party and their newly-established regional party, Uswag Ilonggo./PN
