ILOILO City – Team Hustle and Medics pulled off close victories in the 21-Under category of the Chairman’s Cup 2022 on Sunday at the Ateneo de Iloilo Gym here.
Hustle (1-0) showed its aggressiveness since the start as it defeated Phantom Elite (1-1). Former University of Santo Tomas Tiger Cub Kevin Barranco led the way with 21 markers.
Medics (1-0), on the other hand, cruised to a close 60-58 triumph over Antique (1-1). Former Far Eastern University Baby Tamaraws’ Ronrei Tolentino top-scored with 16 points.
Conce Crita (1-0), on the other hand, send EMB to its second straight defeat with a 96-57 domination. Kimrey Servano was hailed as Toyota Best Player of the Game with 22 markers.
In other results, Guimaras Jr. Leopards (1-0) walloped BVNHS (0-2), 67-51; Hoopers (1-1) prevailed over GG Sports (0-1), 80-76 and Pototan (1-0) escaping over ATOP, 56-54.
On Saturday, Gladiator Ninja (1-0) hacked a 105-61 win over EMB, Phantom Elite (1-1) turned back Hoopers, 103-97, and Antique winning via default over BVNHS.
In the 17-Under category, Rooks surged to a 2-0 start after a 57-46 win over Bounceketball (0-2) on Saturday and 51-45 escape over Nymphspring (0-1) on Sunday.
M&D Ros, meanwhile, also cruised to 2-0 start in the category by winning over Pototan (0-2), 83-68, on Saturday and Bounceketball, 54-52, on Sunday afternoon.
Phantom Elite, on the other hand, split their first two games with a 68-59 triumph over ONHS (1-1) on Saturday, and a 90-70 defeat to Elite Lab (1-0) on Sunday.
In other results, Passi (1-0) debuted with a 61-60 escape over Pototan, Cougars (1-0) pulling off a 72-25 domination over Hustle (0-1), and ONHS edging Converse (0-1), 71-69./PN
