BACOLOD City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental will adjust rates, albeit minor, once the Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary re-opens to the public by the first week of April.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said they are very eager to re-open one of the most popular resorts in the province as it would also signal the return to normalcy and further spur the province’s tourism industry and economy.
He hopes cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) will drop further.
The Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary was closed to the public in March 2020 during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The resort then served as a quarantine facility for more than a year, before re-opening to the public in December of 2021.
However, a few weeks after its re-opening, the resort was forced to close down again after suffering extensive damage brought by super typhoon “Odette.”
Since its closure back in December, the provincial government worked hard to repair the resort while at the same conducting further improvements such as the installation of new street lights to enable visitors to roam around safely even at night./PN
