BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental-based football clubs dominated the Dolphins Football Club 2022 held over the weekend at the La Provincia Open Field here.
Jesusa FC clinched the crown in the 2005-2006 Boys category after defeating Cebu United in the finals. Universal Jesusa FC bagged the third place trophy.
Pontevedra FC, meanwhile, ruled the 2016 Boys category as they edged out Universal FC in the finals. Dolphins FC took home the third place trophy.
Pontevedra FC also ruled the 2011-2012 category with Jesusa FC, Dipolog FA and Don Bosco Cebu-A ending as first runner-up, second runner-up and third runner-up, respectively.
Dolphins FC-B topped the 2009-2010 Boys category after beating Pontevedra FC in the finals. Futbolitos de Dumaguete defeated Kanlaon Hijos for the bronze medal.
In the 2013-2014 category, Saosi FC clinched the gold with Pontevedra FC and Universal FC as runner ups, while Rivals ruled the 2003-2004 category with Don Bosco Cebu-A and Jesusa FC following behind.
In men’s open, Gemex bagged the gold followed by Tanjay Ting Pasing and Amigos Unidos, while Jesusa FC-A topped the 2007-2008 category aftwr beating San Carlos City FC in the finals.
In the 38 above category, Villa Angela FC prevailed over Ames Brownskins Kafuerte in the finals with Kapuge FC as the bronze winner, while Dolphins FC topped the 45 above followed by Real Negrense FC and Lopue West Negros.
In the women’s category, EVFC topped the Women’s Open followed by Ilonggo United and Sketchy Horse. Cebu Elite ruled the 2006 women’s with Bata Tigers and Pontevedra FC as runner ups.
A total of 190 football clubs across 12 age groups have participated in this tournament that was organized by Dolphins Football Club founder Juan Carmona./PN
