ILOILO City – All the personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 6 were subjected to an unannounced drug test recently.
All passed the test, according to Shey Tanaleon, spokesperson of PDEA-6.
She, however, declined to say how many personnel PDEA-6 had for tactical and security reasons.
The drug test was conducted on March 22 when Director Alex Tablate convened all personnel for a conference at the PDEA-6 regional office here.
After the conference, all personnel were directed to proceed to their laboratory for a drug test.
Included in the drug test were drug enforcement officers, administrative personnel, technical staff and job hires.
“All personnel including PDEA director Tablate tested negative for illegal drugs,” said Tanaleon.
PDEA-6 may make the surprise drug test a yearly undertaking, she added.
“We want to make sure our personal are all drug-free,” Tanaleon said
She added: “As lead agency on illegal drugs, dapat clear ang aton mga personnel. They should be models to the community.”/PN
