BFP-6 needs 136 new fire officers

ILOILO City – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region 6 is in need of 136 new fire officers, according to Fire Chef Superintendent Jerry Candido, regional director.

Recruitment has started.

As of this writing, around 3,000 have applied.

Candido said they prefer to hire engineers, seafarers, psychologists, nurses, and pilots.

“We need these qualifications, especially nurses, in our organization, and seaferers who have the knowledge and expertise in water,” Candido added 

Here are the requirements to be a Fire Officer 1 (FO1): 

* a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines

* a person of good moral character

* a graduate of any Baccalaureate Degree from a recognized learning institution

* must possess at least Second Level Eligibility

* must be at least 1.57 meters in height for male and 1.52 meters for female.

* must weigh no more or less than five kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to height, age, sex

* must be not less than 21 or more than 30 years old on the date of actual assumption of duty/oath of office.

* must have passed the psychiatric/psychological, drug and physical tests

* must not have been convicted by final judgment of an offensive crime

* must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed from previous employment./PN
