(Part II)
ON CANDIDATE Belinda “Bebett” Sales Canlas, for Councilor in GenSan: We once worked together at the Admin Division of NPC-Visayas Regional Center, in Cebu City.
She had this no-nonsense approach to all types of transactions assigned to her vis-à-vis the overall quality and timeliness of manpower and supply monitoring.
She did very well, thus we were able then to improve the performance by 27% on deliverables by the Division in a matter of six months.
She was a great Team player for the organization, without compromising the ideals of the service. She possessed that innovative style that inspired everyone in the team to perform better.
Working with Bebett was like building an airplane. She provides that last “missing” bolt for the plane to get completely done and be ready to fly… — Fred Magallano, Former Admin Manager, NPC-Visayas Regional Center

I have known Belinda since her General Santos City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. days and had the chance to engage her services over the years which can be characterized by a certain level of meticulousness, professionalism, and sincerity.
Our shared experiences not only have nurtured our friendship but have transformed the meaning of Belinda for me.
Today, for me, her name ‘Belinda’ is synonymous with ‘quality work.’
Nowadays more than ever, we need people who can deliver and provide the ‘quality work’ we all deserve. — Rosanna Bernadette ‘Osang’ Bulanhagui-Contreras, General Santos City

Speaking of looks, wits, and talents rolled into one, you will get Belinda Sales Canlas.
I first met BelCa, (as I fondly call her) sometime in 2011 here in Iloilo City when we were both connected with Global Business Power Corporation (GBP). During her stay with GBP, I’ve known her to be super amiable and easy to get along with. She gels easily with any type of crowd and brings out the best of every conversation. Monotony and dullness are not in her vocabulary.
I see BelCa as a living cornucopia of talents but her sincerity as a friend is the trait that endeared her to me and my family the most. Her passion to be with people and to engage them personally or through multi-media paved her way back to her beloved hometown though the bond of friendship that connects us remained and strengthened over time.
To my friend BelCa, I pray for your success in the current endeavor that you have undertaken. Your life is your message to your community so continue to shine and inspire. — Alex Ong

Who is BELinda Sales-Canlas?
I know Tita Bel as a kind-hearted woman who also aims to empower other women. I met her in 2020 when she invited me to be a guest in her show, Woman Talk with Belinda Sales Canlas, after I won an essay-writing competition. I was amazed by how much she has accomplished as a writer, speaker, editor, mentor, and journalist during our conversation. She truly tries to offer women a forum to express their stories. Thus, I would say that she strives to relate to everyone’s experiences regardless of their age or generation, social class, or background. We had an excellent talk on her show where she was motivated to relate to the highs and lows of the Gen Zs.
What struck me is that although she was not born nor raised in GenSan, she is a pure-hearted Heneral who wants to see the city flourish and is willing to make the change that GenSan so desperately needs.
When it comes to life, she’s a fearless and confident lady. She may be new to public service, but her longstanding track record and experiences as a journalist and editor indeed make her ready to hear and empathize with the plight of the masses.
Now, you may ask again, “Who is Belinda Sales-Canlas?”
