CAPIZ – Several Capisnons joined this year’s ‘Dagyaw sa Capiztahan’, a Coastal Clean-Up & Mangrove Tree Growing Activity in observance of the province’s 121st Civil Anniversary.
The activity was held at Barangay Agoho on April 22 and spearheaded by the Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (CaPENRO).
According to CaPENRO Atty. Emilyn Arboleda-Depon, the activity was also part of the celebration of World Earth Day.
Arboleda-Depon emphasized the need for immediate action and attention to the preservation, conservation, and protection of the earth’s natural resources.
“We are in a climate emergency, so there should be urgency in action,” the CaPENRO chief said.
Meanwhile, Punong Barangay Ramon Arrobang Jr. expressed elation that their barangay was chosen for the said activity.
The Dagyaw Capiztahan 2022 was participated provincial government of Capiz, Barangay Agoho Fisherfolk Association (BAFA), Capiz Maritime Police Station, Peoples’ Organization, Petron Roxas Terminal, and the residents of Barangay Agoho./PN
