THE Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) conducts the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign on Republic Act No. 7832.

An IEC campaign on RA No. 7832, otherwise known as the “Anti-electricity and Electric Transmission Lines/Materials Pilferage Act of 1994” was conducted at the Northwest Inn and was attended by the Barangay Captains/representatives from the barangays within Bacolod City.

CENECO Corporate Planning Department Manager Engr. Norman Pollentes and Technical Services Division Chief Engr. Leo Arimas explained CENECO’s apprehension campaigns and activities, provisions, implementing rules and regulations, and penalties under RA 7832.

The event was conducted to strengthen the coop’s partnership with the local government units in CENECOs massive campaign on anti-electricity pilferage.

Since the start of the pandemic in 2019, the Cooperative has been suffering from high system loss. The said system loss is being charged to every consumer power bill. All consumers are, therefore, highly encouraged to take part in this campaign by reporting illegal activities related to electricity pilferage./PN
