Guimaras records one active case of COVID-19

A new policy takes effect next month in the provincial government of Guimaras – job hires must have themselves vaccinated against coronavirus disease or their contracts won’t be renewed. Those applying for job hire positions must also be vaccinated.

GUIMARAS – The province of Guimaras recorded one active case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The local case came from Barangay San Isidro, Sibunag, Buenavista. The remaining four towns of Buenavista, San Lorenzo, Jordan, and Nueva Valencia have had zero cases of COVID-19 for more than one week.

As of April 26, the total confirmed cases in Guimaras reached 3,772, of which 3,575 or 94.78 percent recovered and 196 or 5.20 percent died.

“The number of COVID-19 active cases in the province decreased to one that came from the Municipality of Sibunag. Of the total recorded cases in the province, 94.78% (3,575) recovered while 5.20% (196) have died,” according to the Guimaras provincial government’s Facebook page.

* The city or town must belong to a region or province with a low-risk (less than 50 percent) total bed utilization rate./PN
