BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu valued at P3.4 million was seized and three persons were arrested in a buy-bust operation of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) early morning yesterday in Purok Katilingban, Barangay Banago.

The following suspects face a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002: 25-year-old Sandy Romero; 47-year-old Sunny Boy Guino-ohan; and 56-year-old Rudy Talabon, all residents of Barangay Banago.

They were taken to Police Station 3.

According to Police Lieutenant Jovem Mogato, head of BCPO’s City Drug Enforcement Unit, Romero was using his being a food delivery rider as a front for illegal drug transactions.

The supply came from outside Western Visayas and usually delivered in bulk, added Mogato but he gave no specifics.

In a month, the group could dispose at least two kilos, he further said.

The confiscated suspected shabu was in 12 plastic sachets and five knot-tied plastic bags. They had a combined weight of at least 500 grams, said Mogato.

Cops also recovered the P5,000 buy-bust money.

Western Visayas police regional director Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo congratulated the men and women of  the BCPO under Police Colonel Thomas Martir for another successful police operation.

“This bespeaks of your relentless effort against the menace of illegal drugs. Continue endeavoring to bring behind bars those who engage in the illegal activity, said Dongbo. /PN
