BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental governor Eugenio Jose Lacson revealed that two investors were eyeing to build renewable power plants in the province.
According to Lacson, investors were eyeing to construct a hydro power plant along the Bago River and a solar power plant in the town of Hinoba-an.
With his second term in office secured, Lacson said one of his primary goals is attracting new investors for Negros Occidental which would generate more employment opportunities for the Negrenses.
Negros Occidental has been highly-active in the pursuit of renewable energy for the past few years with the construction of multiple solar and biomass plants.
The province is also the home of one of the biggest solar power plant farms in southeast Asia which is located at Hacienda Paz in Cadiz City’s Barangay Tinampaan, and could generate 132.5 megawatts of power./PN
