ILOILO City – A total of P2,460,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs was seized and six suspects were arrested in two separate police operations in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.
The first buy-bust operation was conducted by joint elements of the Binalbagan municipal police station and the Philippine National Police – Drug Enforcement Group, Special Operation Unit 6 at around 5:26 p.m. of June 2 at Torres Road, Barangay Progreso, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
The suspects were identified as Jesusa Palma, 42; Riche Delos Santos, 40; and Frence Jan Cervantes, 21, single, all residents of Barangay Bantayan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
An undercover police officer bought two plastics containing suspected marijuana.
The recovered item weighed more or less three kilograms with an estimated drug price of P360,000.
The other successful operation was launched by joint elements of the Bacolod City Police Station 5 and Bacolod City Police Office, City Drug Enforcement Unit at Rosario Heights Subdivision, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City on June 3 at around 1:05 a.m.
The suspects were identified as Jason Javelosa, 30, of Purok Laurel, Barangay Mansilingan; John Vergel Orquia, 22, single; and John Matthew Tolbo, 25. Both were residents of Purok BM, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.
They were arrested after selling to a police undercover agent a sachet containing suspected shabu.
The recoveries were 16 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, a digital weighing scale and other non-drug items.
The seized illegal drug weighed more or less 300 grams with an estimated drug price of P2,100,000.
All subjects were put under surveillance by police operatives for a couple of months./PN
