PANDAN, Antique – The police station here trained the tanods (watchmen) of barangays Mag-Aba and Tingib on Basic Law Enforcement and Disaster and Fire Prevention and Preparedness on June 3.
According to Police Lieutenant Berlyn Visda, officer-in-charge police chief, the training aimed to empower the tanods to respond in times of disaster, and in the enforcement of laws.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and Bureau of Fire Protection were supportive of the training.
The tanods of the town’s 32 other barangays will be undergoing the same training, too, in the coming days.
Pandan has 34 villages – Aracay, Badiangan, Bagumbayan, Baybay, Botbot, Buang, Cabugao, Candari, Carmen, Centro Norte, Centro Sur, Dionela, Dumrog, Duyong, Fragante, Guia, Idiacacan, Jinalinan, Luhod-Bayang, Maadios, Mag-aba, Napuid, Nauring,Patria, Perfecta, San Andres, San Joaquin, Santa Ana, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Santo Rosario, Talisay, Tingib, and Zaldivar./PN
