ILOILO – A German national with a money lending business was shot to death by two armed men in his house in Barangay Camiri, San Enrique, Iloilo on Wednesday night.
The 70-year-old Wolfgang Knorr died of gunshot wounds to the head while being treated at the Don Valerio Palmares District Hospital in Passi City.
Investigation conducted by Police Colonel Adrian Acollador, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director, showed the shooting happened at 7:05 p.m.
A gunman barged into Knorr’s house. Grappling ensued.
“Tungod may edad na ang biktima, wala nya maagaw ang pusil. Gin tiro sang suspect pero wala maigo, amo to nagdalagan sia paguwa without knowing nga ang isa ka suspect ara sa guwa nagahulat. Ang driver sang motorcycle amo to nakatiro sa iya,” Acollador said.
The suspects fled using the motorcycle.
Three empty shells of a .9mm pistol and an empty shell of a .40 pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
Acollador said probers have yet to name suspects but they believed the motive might be business related.
It was learned that the victim sued some of his borrowers for failure to pay their monthly payment./PN
