CAPIZ – Roxas City and Capiz province have been recognized as among the country’s top performing local government units (LGUs) in local revenue generation by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF).
BLGF recognizes LGUs for their exemplary efforts and performance towards sustainable growth and effective local fiscal management.
Roxas City was cited as top 4 in Year-on-Year Growth in Locally Sourced Revenues for Fiscal Year 2020-2021.
The city further earned the top 6 spot for Collection Efficiency of Locally Sourced Revenues for 2021.
Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas attributed these recognitions to the cooperation of all stakeholders.
“Pinaagi sa maayo nga revenue collection kag insakto nga pagdumala kag paggamit sang pondo nabuligan naton sa pagtib-ong ang aton ekonomiya. Bilang balik sini inyo nakita kag nabatyagan ang maayo nga serbisyo nga ginahatag sang syudad sa taga-Roxas City,” said Dadivas.
To note, in line with BLGF Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 015.2022 dated July 29, 2022, the reporting accountabilities of LGUs under the LGU Integrated Financial Tools (LIFT) System have been processed, analyzed, ranked, and vetted by the BLGFCentral and Regional Offices to recognize the top LGU performers for 2021.
Meanwhile, the province of Capiz was hailed as Top 4 in Collection Efficiency of Locally-Sourced Revenue and made it to the Hall of Fame for the said category.
It can be noted that in addition to the regular performance awards, the BLGF also launched the “Local Revenue Generation Hall of Fame,” which is a special category for LGUs that excellently attained exemplary performance in local revenue collection in the consecutive years in each performance areas.
To receive this award, an LGU must have consistently made it to the Top 10 national awardees in the past three consecutive years, from which the top three provinces, cities and municipalities, based on their average ranking, for the period covered will be selected./PN
