San Jose police station hailed as best in PH

ANTIQUE – The municipal police station of San Jose de Buenavista here has been declared the best in the country during the 121st Police Service Anniversary.

The awarding was held at the Multi-Purpose Center of Camp Crame in Quezon City on Monday, Aug. 8.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. awarded a Plaque of Recognition and Unit Streamer to Police Major Benjo Clarite, officer-in-charge of the San Jose police station.

Clarite said the citation was a recognition of San Jose police station’s efforts to keep Antique’s capital town peaceful. He thanked the local government of San Jose led by Mayor Elmer Untaran for the support.

Also present during the awarding were Department Interior and Local Government secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. and Philippine National Police chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr.

Clarite also cited the barangay officials and residents of 28 San Jose villages for their cooperation.

“Thank you to all stakeholders who unselfishly and generously support the San Jose police station,” he said.

Among the peace and order-related programs of the San Jose police station are the following:

* squad weekly interactive meeting

* regular dialogue with punong barangays

* community outreach program

* tree planting

* education and information campaign on Iwas Salisi and Budol-budol gang safety tips; no helmet, no travel policy; and distributed free flyers on anti-terrorism and rape laws; health protocols on COVID-19;

* campaign on loose firearms, wanted persons, and crimes

* adopt-a-family program  and “Kapwa ko, Sagot ko” (distribution of family food packs to indigent families)

 “The San Jose police station will continue its mission to maintain peace and order and make San Jose de Buenavista a safer place to live, work and do business,” said Clarite./PN
