200 PWDs attend ‘awareness training’ on disability rights

ROXAS City – Some 200 persons with disabilities (PWDs) and their families here and from Capiz province attended an “awareness training” on disability rights.

The activity was part of the celebration of the 44th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week themed “Pamahalaan, Kabalikat sa Pagtupad ng Pantay na Edukasyon, Trabaho at Kabuhayan, Tugon sa Pagpapalakas ng Taong May Kapansanan.”

According to Roxas City’s Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, the City Social Welfare and Development and City Health Office spearheaded the awareness training which taught the PWDs and their families about their rights.

“Aton ginpakibaghin ang ila mga kinamatarong sa patas nga opurtunidad sa edukasyon, trabaho kag pangabuy-anan, subongman ang mga serbisyo nga ginahatag sang city government kaparehas sang medical, education, employment, kag iban pa nga serbisyo,” said Dadivas.

The participating PWDs were also given free food packs./PN
