BACOLOD City – A man celebrating his birthday on Wednesday was declared dead on the spot after crashing his motorcycle into a truck on Lacson-Buri Road, Barangay Mandalagan here.
The 28-year-old Jundie Doroteo was a resident of Barangay Campo Santiago, Sagay City.
Police Captain Armilyn Vargas, Police Station 3 commander, said Doroteo, upon reaching the intersection of Lacson-Buri road, accidentally rammed his motorcycle to the back of a truck driven by 22-year-old Kensly Rojonan.
Vargas said the truck was not moving that time as the traffic light was red.
Doroteo incurred multiple injuries in the head and body.
It was also suspected that Doroteo could possibly be drunk.
Rojonan, meanwhile, was detained by the police.
Cops are currently awaiting the decision from Doroteo’s family if they would press charges.
Vargas pointed out that the victim was at fault over the accident./PN
