BACOLOD City – A teenager reported missing was found dead over the weekend on the third floor of an old cinema building along Araneta Street, Barangay 14.
Police requested not to identify the 18-year-old lass, although they confirmed that she was a resident of the city.
Police Major Ramel Sarona, Police Station 1 commander, said based on a statement given by the family, the victim went out on Friday morning last week and told them that she would be processing her scholarship in a private college in the city.
Late Friday night, however, the family reported the teenager as missing. She failed to return home.
On Saturday, the lass was found dead on third floor of Cineplex Building, an old cinema complex.
Found beside the teenager was a cutter. The police believed this was a case of suicide. The teenager slashed her wrist and bled herself to death.
Sarona said he talked to the lass’ parents and found out that she had a problem with her school scholarship.
The mother recalled offering to accompany her daughter to the private college, said Sarona, and the family later found out that the teenager failed to take the entrance exam.
Sarona said the teenager would be autopsied./PN
