BACOLOD City – The police in Silay City, Negros Occidental seized P7.5-million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation at Mallery 2 Subdivision in the city’s Barangay Rizal, late Sunday night.
Cops also arrested a suspect – 36-year-old Mark Villaran of Antonio Luna Street in the city’s Barangay 1.
According to the Silay City police, Villaran was a “high-value drug target.”
Police seized 10 knot-tied bags and 20 plastic sachets of suspected shabu with a combined weight of 1.1 kilograms and valued at P7,561,600.
Also recovered were the buy-bust money amounting to P48,000 along with a weighing scale and drug paraphernalia.
Earlier that same day, operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit seized P13.7 million worth of shabu in the city’s Barangay Lantad which resulted in the arrest of suspects 30-year-old Angie and 25-year-old Angielyn Dumdumana.
Following the latest high value confiscation, it is now believed by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) that the illegal drugs they seized are possibly meant for Bacolod City’s MassKara Festival in October./PN
