ILOILO – Six sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P102,000 were seized in a drug buy-bust operation in Pototan, Iloilo around 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 4.
The operation led to the arrest of live-in partners Bernardo Ballesteros, 30, a resident of Barangay Buray, Oton, Iloilo, and Jemalyn Alilaen Ambogana, 30, of Barangay Patungan, Sibalum, Antique, both classified as street level drug pushing suspects.
Joint operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Chief Master Sergeant Carlos Villanueva, Station Drug Enforcement Team of Pototan Police Station led by Police Lieutenant Jesse Lepaña and Banate Police Station led by Police Staff Sergeant Donel Biñas staged the sting operation.
“Naglabay ma lang kami kay makadto ko sa akon pilintahan nga salakyan. Wala ko gabaligya druga pero kahapon naggamit kami nga duwa pang bato sa kapoy mag ubra,” said Ballesteros.
Aside from the prohibited substance, P10,200 buy-bust money was also seized.
Police said Ballesteros and Ambogana rented a taxi from Molo district in Iloilo City.
The suspects are now in the custody of the Pototan Police Station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
