BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) is awaiting the invitation of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) for a joint security meeting following the official confirmation of the “MassKara sa Panaad” event next month.
NOCPPO spokesperson Police Lieutenant Judesses Catalogo affirmed that the security of the Panaad Park and Stadium falls under their responsibility.
However, Catalogo pointed out that arrests made inside the premises are immediately handed over to the BCPO’s Police Station 7 since the park belongs under their jurisdiction.
Police Station 7 is also responsible for the filing of criminal charges for offenses committed inside Panaad Park.
As to the exact number of police personnel, Catalogo has yet to confirm how many would be deployed, although he said the NOCPPO also sends some personnel to help oversee security during festivities.
The “MassKara sa Panaad” will run from Oct.10 to 16./PN
