779 wanted persons arrested in August

ILOILO City – In August, various police units across Western Visayas arrested 779 wanted persons, reported the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).

“This is the result of our relentless endeavor to capture wanted persons in the region,” said Brigadier General Leo Francisco, regional police director.

Of 779 arrested, 123 were classified as most wanted persons (MWP) and of these, Negros Occidental made the most arrests at 48s, followed by Iloilo province with 23, Aklan with 14,  Capiz with 10, Bacolod City with nine,  Antique with eight, Iloilo with six, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Regional Field Unit 6 (CIDG RFU6) with four, and Guimaras with one.

Meanwhile, of the 656 others arrested (charged with lesser offenses), Negros Occidental still led with most arrests at 348, followed by Iloilo (107), Bacolod City (52), Antique (37), CIDG-RFU6 (32), Capiz (27), Iloilo City (26), Aklan (20), and Guimaras (seven).

“This notable accomplishment reflects the commitment and dedication of all our tracker teams across the region. Our campaign will tirelessly continue without fear or favor to serve justice to the victims of these law offenders,” said Francisco./PN
