ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The city government here through its Council for the Protection of Children is working on strengthening its programs involving children.

Mayor Ronnie Dadivas convened the council on Wednesday, Sept. 14, to discuss the implementation of some programs and projects for the welfare and protection of children in the city.

One of the discussions was centered on the plan to revive and activate the city’s Task Force (TF) Sagip Bata.

Dadivas believes that there is need to activate the task force to resolve the issues and concerns regarding street children, especially the increasing number of them coming from other places begging for alms here.

The meeting was joined by Councilor Garry Potato, Councilor and ex-officio board member Atty. Paul Baticados, City Social Welfare and Development Office officer-in-charge Persy Cordova, Dr. Rizelle Dela Cruz  of the City Health Office, Lorelie Suelo of the Crisis Center, Anna Marie Albaladejo of the Roxas City Police Station, Parents-Teachers Association representatives, among others./PN
