Carlos Durana, chairperson of the Miss Bacolod MassKara 2022, said this year’s pageant is a rebranded beauty for this year’s festival. Since the early years of the MassKara Festival, the title has been Miss MassKara and later transitioned to MassKara Queen.
“As we mark a new era, under the administration of Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, our festival organizer decided to rebrand our festival queen title,” Durana also said.
He cited, “More than a MassKara Queen, our winners also carry the name of Bacolod City. When our winners take on the bigger stage in national pageants, we want to take pride that these beauties are proudly Bacolodnons.”
Miss Bacolod MassKara-Universe will receive P150,000 in cash prize; Miss Bacolod MassKara-World will receive P100,000; and Miss Bacolod MassKara-International will get P80,000. The first and second runners-up will receive P50,000 and P30,000, respectively.
The pre-pageant night will be held on Oct. 9, which will include the festival and the talent presentations.
The grand coronation night will be on the evening of Oct. 19 at the University of Saint La Salle-Bacolod coliseum./PN
