SIBALOM, Antique – A suspected rebel surrendered to the police here.
On Sept. 17, the 46-year-old who went by the alias “Beloy” turned himself in to the Sibalom Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Beloy also surrendered a 12-gauge homemade shotgun rifle type and one fragmentation grenade.
Police Colonel Alexander Mariano, director of the Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO), commended the Sibalom MPS for their campaign targeting rebels to surrender for a chance at a new life.
The Sibalom MPS, together with the Provincial Intelligence Team, Provincial Intelligence Unit, 1st Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Regional Intelligence Unit negotiated with Beloy to surrender.
Mariano also called on other rebels to yield to the government.
Beloy is now under the custody of the Sibalom MPS for debriefing./PN
