Iloilo receives 10K Pfizer vaccine doses

ILOILO – The provincial government received an additional 10,000 doses of pediatric Pfizer vaccine from the Department of Health (DOH).

According to Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares-Quiñon, head of the Iloilo Provincial Health Office (IPHO), the vaccine will be distributed equally to 43 local government units (LGUs) to inoculate more children aged five to 11 years old against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

She also announced the resumption of IPHO’s pediatric vaccination in select sites such as the Iloilo provincial capitol lobby and Robinsons Place in Pavia, Iloilo.

“There are only 10,000 doses equitably distributed to 43 LGUs, first come, first serve basis. Give your children this much needed protection, bring them to the nearest health facility in Iloilo,” said Quiñon.

As of Sept. 8, a total of 146,925 children have already had their first dose, while 127,185 children are fully vaccinated in the province.

The total population of kids aged five to 11 years old in the province is 267,470.
