ILOILO City – A 44-year-old man was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Zone 2, Barangay Rizal, La Paz district at around 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26.
Suspect Anthony Diones, a resident of the said barangay, yielded three grams of suspected shabu valued at around P20,000.
Officers of the La Paz Police Station Drug Enforcement Team led by Police Major Jose Val Ladublan arrested Diones after the latter handed over a plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange for P5,100.
Ladublan said they have been monitoring Diones for a week before conducting the operation.
The suspect was caught in a drug buy-bust operation back in 2002 and imprisoned in 2012 for possession of dangerous drugs.
Diones is now in the custody of the La Paz Police Station and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022./PN
