ILOILO – The special investigation task group (SITG) Palibosfer is eyeing a cyber warrant from the court to compel Jevron Parohinog to let the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) examine his cellphone.
SITG Palibosfer stands for “Parohinog-Libao-Bosque-Fernandes”, the family names of lone survivor Parohinog and the three fatalities in the Estancia killings – John Paul Mark Bosque, Chrysler Floyd Fernandes and Mark Clarenz Libao.
According to Police Senior Master Sergeant Francisco Lindero Jr., public information officer of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) and SITG spokesperson, if Parohinog has nothing to hide, he should not fear submitting his cellphone for checking bsy RACU.
Luminol test conducted
Meanwhile, a luminol test was conducted by the PRO-6’s Regional Forensic Unit 6 and SITG Palibosfer in the entire house of Parohinog in Sitio Calumpang, Poblacion, Estancia town on Wednesday, Sept. 28, two weeks after the killings.
Parohinog had told the police he and his three friends/business partners were shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Villa Pani-an, Estancia on Sept. 14.
The team also conducted luminol tests in Bosque’s car and at the ice plant owned by the victims, which authorities believed they had visited prior to the killings. The ice plant is near Parohinog’s house.
Lindero said the luminol test results will be available in the next two days.
Luminol chemical is used by forensic investigators to detect blood in a crime scene. It reacts with the iron in the hemoglobin so that blood can be detected in it even after it has been cleaned.
When luminol is sprayed on where the blood has been (even though the blood is not visible to the naked eye), it glows under blue light and can be vibrantly seen when the area is dark.
On the other hand, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Region 6 has already secured eight affidavits regarding the murder of the three young businessmen.
NBI-6 assistant regional director Jeremiah Sargado said the affidavits came from the families of Bosque, Fernandes and Libao; four witnesses; and Bosque’s fiancée.
On the part of the SITG Palibosfer, they are eyeing these possible motives in the killing: robbery, business, debt, and online sabong.
Parohinog, who is still in the custody of the Estancia police station, is considered at this time as both a witness and a person of interest./PN
