Bacolod’s No. 9 most wanted in falls

BACOLOD City – The No. 9 most wanted person in this city has been tracked down and arrested by operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in the city’s Purok Marapara, Barangay Bata on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 28.

Police identified the suspect as 51-year-old Ruel Amonin, a resident of the aforementioned place and the alleged last member of the Arnold “Aki” Cuadra robbery-holdup group and the Villarete robbery group, which previously operated in the city.

BCPO spokesperson, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, said Amonin was served with an arrest warrant for a charge of violating Republic Act 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act.

A search of the suspect’s home yielded a .38 revolver with live ammunition, a loaded KG9 automatic pistol, three 12-gauge shotgun ammunition, and disassembled parts believed to be from various firearms.

Police also recovered a fragmentation grenade.

Aside from being involved in robbery-holdup groups, Amonin was also believed to make a living by repairing firearms, police said.

The suspect is now detained at the Police Station 3, and may face additional charges related to illegal possession of firearms and ammunition./PN
