ILOILO – A top-down jeep fell on the side of the road a few feet deep in Barangay Inagdangan Norte, Zarraga town around 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3.
Fortunately, all three occupants, including the driver, were not injured.
The driver, Ricky Penuela, was a 36-year-old resident of Barangay Cayos, Dumangas town. Also on board were Raffy Tacda, 32, of Barangay Patlad, Dumangas; and Daren John Tacda, 19, of Barangay Cayos.
According to Penuela, they came from Banga Bante, Zarraga and were on their way to San Miguel town.
He said he lost control of the steering wheel and they crashed into the railings on the side of the road and fell straight down.
Penuela denied falling asleep while driving or being under the influence of liquor.
Police said the area was wet and muddy, which may have caused the accident.
The front portion of the jeep and several parts were damaged./PN
