CAPIZ – Around 500 grams of suspected shabu valued at over P4 million was intercepted at a police checkpoint in Barangay Linampongan, Pontevedra town on Monday night, Oct. 10.
A suspect was also arrested – Roberto Dela Cruz, 59, of Barangay San Jose, Roxas City.
The Pontevedra police said Dela Cruz was No. 6 in the Capiz Philippine National Police – Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency drugs watchlist.
Also recovered were a .9mm pistol, .32 pistol, ammunition, cash, and suspected drug paraphernalia.
Pontevedra police chief, Police Major Cyril Punzalan, said they received information about a person with illegal drugs and on board a motorcycle heading towards the town.
The local police immediately conducted a checkpoint./PN
