ILOILO City – Seventy police officials of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) were subjected to random drug testing on Saturday, Oct. 15.
They included 43 police chiefs, IPPO staff and new IPPO director, Police Colonel Noel Aliño.
Aliño said police officers should be drug test role models.
“Dapat mauna ang mga officials na pulis magpa-drug test para susundin ng nasa ilalim. Part ito ng internal cleansing natin na programa,” he said.
The Iloilo top cop said the drug test results will be released within this week and those who will test positive for drug use will face administrative charges.
“Gusto natin ang mga tao natin ay drug-free. Ayaw ko na may tao akong nasangkot sa druga. Huwag nila akong subukan,” Aliño said.
On the other hand, the IPPO director conducted a “surprise” inspection of some police stations in the province./PN
