Siblings busted; P700K ‘shabu’ seized

ILOILO City – Two siblings were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Lopez-Jaena Norte, La Paz district at around 2 p.m. yesterday.

Nestor Magno Jr., 38, and his brother Alcen, believed to be in his 40s, were both residents of the village.

Officers of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operation Unit 6 and the Special Drug Enforcement Team of the La Paz police station arrested the suspects after Nestor handed over a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer for P23,000.

Two knot-tied transparent plastic bags of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item, weighing a total of 105 grams and with a standard drug price of P714,000 were recovered.

Nestor faced a drug-related charge in 2015; he was freed in 2019.

The suspects were detained at the La Paz police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
