Only fully vaxxed persons allowed in Iloilo cemeteries

ILOILO – Only individuals fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) will be allowed to enter cemeteries in this province during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ days on Nov. 1 and 2, respectively.

Under Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.’s Executive Order (EO) No. 260-H-2022 extending COVID-19 Alert Level 1 until Oct. 31, 2022, all cemeteries and columbaria in the province shall be open during Piesta Minatay but visitors must be fully vaccinated, wear facemasks and observe minimum public health standards.

Cemetery visitors must present their vaccination cards.

In regulating visitors’ entry, Defensor cited the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines on the implementation of the alert level system for COVID-19 response. Individuals 12 years old and above will be required to present proof of full vaccination before participating in mass gatherings or entry into indoor establishments, such as but not limited to:

* in-person religious gatherings; gatherings for necrological services, wakes, inurnment, and funerals for those who died of causes other than COVID-19 and for the cremains of the COVID-19 deceased;

* all indoor dine-in services of food preparation establishments such as kiosks, commissaries, restaurants, and eateries; provided that, for outdoor or al fresco dining and take out channels, no proof of full vaccination is required;

* all indoor personal care establishments such as barber shops, hair spas, hair salons, and nail spas, and those offering aesthetic/cosmetic services or procedures, make-up services, salons, spas, reflexology, and other similar procedures including home service options;

* fitness studios, gyms, and venues for exercise and sports;

* all indoor cinemas or movie houses operating at full capacity; and

* meetings, incentives, conference and exhibition events, and permitted venues for social events such as parties, wedding receptions engagement, and the likes./PN
