BACOLOD City – A man was hacked to death during a heated argument at around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 in Barangay Mahalang, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
Syrel Pagayunan, 46, and a resident of the said village, succumbed to a hack wound on his neck.
The suspect, Jason Soledad, of legal age and also from the same place, is still at large as of press time, police said.
A daughter of the victim said her father and the suspect were talking and then a heated argument ensued.
The suspect to hack her father with a cane cutter on the neck, she said.
Pagayunan tried to run to his house but stumbled.
His family brought Pagayunan t o the Governor Valeriano M. Gatuslao Hospital where he was declared “dead on arrival” by attending physician Jezreel Gonzales./PN
