ILOILO – A sport utility vehicle (SUV) accidentally crashed into a metal barrier placed at a flyover in Barangay Aganan, Pavia town around 2:00 a.m. yesterday.
The driver, Ava Kritia Diaz, 32, and a resident of Barangay Quintin Salas, Jaro, Iloilo City, and her companion, Nicole Gayares, 24, also of the said village, complained of minor pain in different parts of their bodies. Diaz also sustained injury to her left arm.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Ronnie Labiaga Jr., traffic investigator of the Pavia Municipal Police Station, the two women were from San Miguel town and were traveling home.
Labiaga added that both were under the influence of intoxicating alcohol and that the driver lost control of the steering wheel, resulting in the accident.
“Naka-inom ini sila ang aton biktima halin sa banwa sang San Miguel pakadto sa city sang nadulaan ang driver control,” Labiaga said.
Pavia Emergency Responders provided first aid, and the town’s Bureau of Fire Protection cleared the roadblock.
The victims were then brought to Holy Mary Women and Children’s Hospital and are in good condition as of this writing./PN
