‘Tokhang’ surrenderee busted in Jaro

ILOILO City – A 35-year-old waiter was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Our Lady of Lourdes, Jaro district around 2:50 p.m. of Nov. 18.

Stephen Clark Aligarbes, a resident of the said barangay, was caught by officers of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by Police Lieutenant Marlon Perez and Jaro Police Station after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer for P2,200.

Also recovered were four plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing three grams and with a standard drug price of P20,000 and a cell phone.

According to punong barangay Leo Lindero, Aligarbes was a tokhang surrenderee included in the 2016 list of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC).

The suspect was detained at the Jaro Police Station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
